Folk master Rimma Tarasova, travelling deep in the countryside over the villages and settlements of Kaluga region, has been collecting puppets for ten years already. Old women (”babushky”) share with her the technology of puppets’ making, after that she makes them herself. She knows about forty ways of traditional puppets’ making. Each puppet has a passport with data about where and when it was found, her purpose and who told about it.
13.00 Dinner in the functioning nunnery of Holy Transfiguration in Vorotynsk.
The monastery was founded soon after «The Great Standings on the Ugra river» by Dmitry Fyodorovichem Vorotynsky in 1480. There was Tatar standing-place where khans wives lived. Аnd in 1765 was closed. In the XX-th century the historical relic has been destroyed, and the ancient monastic cemetery — is taken down.
In 2001 Monastery restoration has begun, today is a female monastery — a light building where there live nuns on obedience.
